The meeting was attended by Members of Parliament Dinesh Trivedi, Jyoti Dhurve, Ajay Sancheti, Naresh Gujral and Vayalar Ravi.
The officers of the Department of Commerce and head of the Plantation Commodity Boards were also present.
"The members were apprised about the plantation sector in India including the performance of Tea Board, Coffee Board, Spices Board and Rubber Board in development of the sector," an official statement said.
It said the recent initiatives taken by the government such as mitigating adverse effects of climate change by extending Pradhan Mantri Krishi Sinchai Yojana, Revenue Insurance Scheme for Plantation Sector for protecting growers from the twin risks of weather and prices.
