Contractor held for bid to bribe

A top district official today caught a contractor red handed while allegedly attempting to give a bribe of Rs 2,000 to a head clerk at his office in Paramakudi in the district.
Police said Paramakudi Sub-Collector G.S.Sameeran on a surprise visit to the office saw the contractor attempting to give bribe to the head clerk for getting some work done.
He immediately informed police, who rushed and arrested the contractor.
