Cop arrested for attacking hotelier

: A Special Branch (Intelligence) policeman was arrested today for allegedly attacking a hotelier in an inebirated state when asked to pay for the money he and his friends had after dinner.
Police said the 48-year-old man had taken 10 persons with him to a roadside eatery last night. The owner asked him for Rs 1,600 after they had eaten, leading to a heated exchange of words.
The policeman then hit the hotelier with a wooden log and he had to be hospitalised
The man was arrested on a complaint filed by the owner, police said.
