Later, Aam Aadmi Party workers staged a protest and demanded arrest of the accused police official.
A case of molestation was registered against the police station in-charge Ravindra Yadav based on a complaint of a woman constable posted at the same police station, after local residents staged a protest over the issue last night, Additional Superintendent of Police Gopal Khandel said today.
Additional force was also rushed to the police station as a precautionary measure after the protest outside its premises, he said.
A case was registered against Yadav under section 354(a) (molestation) of the IPC, the ASP said adding that after a probe, appropriate action would be taken against him.
Incidentally, before the case was registered against him, Yadav was yesterday transferred to Narmada Nagar police station and also relieved from Moghat, the ASP said.
