A 54-year old police official and his daughter-in-law allegedly committed suicide by consuming poison in Madhya Pradesh's Morena district, an official said Saturday.
Assistant sub-inspector Ajay Pal Singh (54) Friday consumed poison soon after his daughter-in-law Bhawana Yadav (26) did the same at their government accommodation in the Civil Lines area here.
"Bhawana was rushed to a hospital in Gwalior after she consumed poison. She died during treatment and soon after, ASI Singh too consumed poison and killed himself," said Kotwali police station in-charge Atul Singh Saturday.
The official said that the ASI was on sick leave for the past 15 days.
He said that a probe was underway to find out the exact cause of the deaths.
