Copper, nickel remain weak on global cues

Prices of copper and nickel fell further by Rs 2 per kg on the local non-ferrous metals market today largely on weakening global trend.
Traders said sentiment dampened after copper dropped on concern that a probe into inventories at Qingdao Port will reduce demand for the metal in China, the world's biggest user of the commodity.
Meanwhile, copper for delivery in three months retreated 0.7 per cent to 6,642 dollar a metric tonne on the London Metal Exchange.
In the national capital, Copper mixed scrap and nickel (4x4)remained under selling pressure and shed another Rs 2 each to Rs 430 and Rs 1,084-1,085 per kg.
Following are today's metal rates per kg:
Zinc ingot 111-117, nickel plate (4x4) 1,084-1,085, gun metal scrap 227, bell metal scrap 229, copper mixed scrap 430, chadri deshi 285.
Lead ingot 118, lead imported 116, aluminium ingots 152, Aluminium sheet cutting 153, aluminium wire scrap 155 and aluminium utensils scrap 152.
