Copper, nickel rise on uptick in demand

Copper and nickel prices were higher by Rs 2 per kg at the non-ferrous metal market today on increased demand from consuming industries amid a firm global cues.
Traders said apart from upsurge in demand from consuming industries at domestic spot market, a firm trend overseas boosted from signs that demand may strengthen in China, the biggest consumer, mainly buoyed the sentiment.
Meanwhile, copper for delivery in three month delivery ended higher at USD 4,781 per tonne, the highest close since August 19 at the London Metal Exchange.
In the national capital, copper mixed scrap and nickel plate (4x4) moved up by Rs 2 each to Rs 379 and Rs 842-847 per kg, respectively.

Zinc ingot Rs 107-113, Nickel plate (4x4) Rs 842-847, gun metal scrap Rs 227, Bell metal scrap Rs 229, copper mixed scrap Rs 379, chadri deshi Rs 295.
Lead ingot Rs 91, lead imported Rs 97, aluminium ingots Rs 156, aluminium sheet cutting Rs 152, aluminium wire scrap Rs 152 and aluminium utensils scrap Rs 150.
