Copra prices fell by Rs 100 per quintal in an otherwise steady wholesale dry fruits market today owing to slackened demand from retailers against adequate supplies from producing belts.
However, other dry fruits moved in a narrow range in scattered deals and settled around previous levels.
Traders said sluggish demand against sufficient stocks position mainly kept pressure on copra prices.
In the national capital, copra moved down by Rs 100 to Rs 16,600-19,900 per quintal.
Following are today's quotations (per 40 kg):
Almond (California) Rs 21,950, Almond (Gurbandi-new) Rs 8,300-8,600; Almond (Girdhi) Rs 6,400-6,600; Abjosh Afghani Rs 15,000-25,000.
Almond Kernel (California-new) Rs 758-778 per kg, Almond Kernel (Gurbandi-new) Rs 630-740 per kg.
