Coriander, jeera rises on fall in supply

Coriander and jeera prices rose by Rs 100 per quintal in the national capital today in view of fall in supplies from producing belts against fresh buying by retailers and stockists.
Firming trend in futures market also supported the uptrend.
Coriander prices rose by Rs 100 to conclude at Rs 11,300-17,300 per quintal.
Jeera common and jeera best quality also went higher by Rs 100 each to conclude at Rs 11,300-11,500 and Rs 14,500-15,000 per quintal, respectively.
Traders said buying support from retailers and stockists against fall in supplies from producing belts, mainly pushed up coriander and jeera prices.

Ajwain (per kg) 142-200, black pepper (per kg) 775-950, betel-nut (kg) 285-335, cardamom brown-Jhundiwali (kg) 1,420-1,430 and cardamom brown-Kanchicut (kg) 1,525-1,650.
Cardamom small (kg): Chitridar 740-790, cardamom (colour robin) 640-660, cardamom bold 660-690, cardamom extra (bold) 860-880 and cloves 725-860.
