Coriander, turmeric ease on subdued demand

Coriander and turmeric prices fell by Rs 100 per quintal in the national capital today on fall in demand from retailers and stockists amid adequate stocks.
Also, increased arrivals from growing regions and weakening trend in futures market also put pressure on the coriander and turmeric prices.
Coriander and turmeric prices fell by Rs 100 each to conclude at Rs 11,100-16,100 and Rs 7,800-12,300 per quintal, respectively.
Marketmen said sluggish demand from retailers and stockists against adequate stocks, mainly pulled down coriander and turmeric prices.
Following are today's quotations (in Rs):
Ajwain (per kg) 155-190, black pepper (per kg) 600-750, betel-nut (kg) 300-350, cardamom brown-Jhundiwali (kg) 1,825-1,850 and cardamom brown-Kanchicut (kg) 2,070-2,120.
Cardamom small (kg): Chitridar 790-850, cardamom (colour robin) 790-810, cardamom bold 800-820, cardamom extra (bold) 930-980 and cloves 750-850.
