Acting tough against those who violated the lockdown orders before a curfew was clamped in the entire state to tackle coronavirus on Tuesday, the Himachal Pradesh Police registered 47 cases, an official said.
The highest number of 15 cases each were registered in Kangra and Mandi districts, followed by Hamirpur (5), Shimla (4), Baddi (3), two each in Una and Kullu and one in Chamba.
Mandi SP Gurdev Sharma said 15 people were booked in the district for violating the home quarantine and lockdown norms.
The SP said eight persons were booked under Sections 188, 269, 270 and 271 of Indian Penal Code (IPC) for not observing home quarantine.
The rest were booked for violating the lockdown orders under Sections 188 and 270 of the IPC, he added.
