Addressing an election rally at the Maharaja’s College grounds in Mysore, Modi recalled what Rajiv Gandhi had said when he was the Prime Minister.
“He had said that only 15 paise reached the people out of a rupee that is spent in New Delhi,” he said. “So, where did this money go? It went into the pockets of the Congressmen,” he said accusing them of ruining the country.
The Gujarat CM said Gandhiji wanted the Congress to be wound up. But, Congressmen had failed to fulfil his dream. Instead, they continued to hang on to power and engaged themselves in looting the country, “Now the time has come to fulfil Gandhiji’s dream. We must dismiss the Congress,” he said.“My aim is to bring good governance in the country,” he said.
