Cottonseed oil cake prices on Saturday edged up by 2.13 per cent to Rs 1,821 per quintal in futures trade due to accumulation of positions amid upbeat trend in spot market.
The National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange (NCDEX), which usually remains closed on weekend, was open for trading on Saturday on account of the presentation of the Union Budget.
On the NCDEX, cottonseed oil cake contracts for February delivery rose by Rs 38, or 2.13 per cent, to Rs 1,821 per quintal in 53,760 lots.
Cottonseed oil cake for delivery in March went up by Rs 43, or 2.39 per cent, to Rs 1,839 per quintal in 60,000 lots.
Marketmen said raising of positions by participants amid rising demand from cattle-feed makers mainly influenced cottonseed oil cake prices here.
