Country-made liquor seized in Balasore

Excise personnel have seized a huge quantity of country-made liquor and arrested six persons involved in transporting the liquor near Soro in Balasore district.

Acting on a tip-off, the excise sleuths conducted a raid on NH-16 yesterday and nabbed the six persons from Matiapali near the highway and seized over 1,000 litres of country-made liquor, Excise sub-inspector Kulamani Maharana said.

Four motor-cycles have also been seized from the accused persons involved in the illegal liquor business, he said.
