Country needs to create more jobs in agri sector: Raj Guv

Rajasthan Governor Kalyan Singh today said the country needs to create more jobs in agriculture sector and ensure economic empowerment of its farmers.
He was speaking at 'Swadeshi Sangam' meeting organised by Swadeshi Jagran Manch at Ravindra Manch here.
There was a need to promote agriculture sector and support farmers so that they can produce more food and can take advantage of growth as well can play vital role in economy, he said.
The Governor said that poverty is nothing but a result of unemployment which can be eradicated only with efforts and not by mere giving slogans.
"Home made products of small units in far flung rural areas are the need of today. Agriculture sector and farmer should be promoted, their input cost should be decreased by subsidy and they should be given proper price of their product so that their purchase power can be increased," he said.

Devendra Sharma, an expert on agriculture matters, said India should focus on increasing food production so that it can take a lead in exporting food grains.
Agriculture Minister Prabhu Lal Saini was also present on the occasion.
