The 25-year-old victim lodged a complaint against her father-in-law Manjitsingh Balbirsingh Renu and mother-in-law Gurmitkaur Manjitsingh Renu last evening that she was harassed mentally and physically from October to December last year for getting dowry, Vitthalwadi police station sub-inspector R D Shinde said.
The woman also complained that her in-laws threatened to commit suicide and put the blame for it on her, if she failed to fulfil their demand, Shinde said.
Based on the complaint, offences have been registered under sections 498A (husband or relative of husband of a woman subjecting her to cruelty) and 506 (criminal intimidation) of the IPC, she said.
