Couple kidnaps landlord's son, arrested

A 4-year-old boy was allegedly kidnapped by a couple who were staying as tenants in their house in Sawai Madhopur area but later rescued, police said today.
The accused couple identified as Sumant Ghosh and Saroj went to the boy's school claiming to be his guardians and took him away, Sanjay Sharma, Kotwali police station in-charge said.
The couple left the boy on a street and went somewhere nearby. Meanwhile, a student of the same school spotted the boy crying and informed police about it, he said.
With the help of locals, the couple was arrested and the boy handed over to his family members.

The accused couple confessed during interrogation that they kidnapped the boy to demand ransom for paying their debts, Sharma said, adding a case of abduction has been registered against the accused.
