The family was travelling by taxi from Burdwan towards Kolkata, when their vehicle was hit by another, police said today.
The woman died soon after the accident, while her husband died this morning in a nursing home. The their three children - a daughter and two sons are also being treated, the police said.
The driver of the car fled, the police added.
