Madan and his wife Kaushal were yesterday convicted by Additional District Sessions judge Poonam Rajput who held them guilty under IPC's section 376 (Punishment for rape) and 120B (Punishment of criminal conspiracy) for raping a 22-year-old woman and helping in the crime in October 2007.
According to the prosecution, the victim had gone to fetch water from a nearby hand pump when she was raped by Madan, who was helped by his wife.
