The villagers lifted the blockade after an assurance of giving compensation to his family and arrest of the accused by the police, a senior police official said today, adding that one person, identified as Lakhan has been arrested.
The incident took place yesterday when the accused along with some others got into a scuffle with the guard of Mataji Goushala.
Following this, he along with his companions opened fire on the premises in which the guard, Banwari died on the spot.
Sub-Divisional Magistrate Surenderpal Singh said that efforts would be made to provide relief to the bereaved family from Chief Minister's relief fund.
