Property worth Rs 50 lakh of a cow smuggler was seized under the UP Gangster Act in a village in Muzaffarnagar district, a senior official said.
Imran allegedly extracted money through illegal sources and bought property in Chapar village that was seized on Sunday, according to District Magistrate Selva Kumari J.
He was held under Section 14(1) of the Act, the DM said.
Meanwhile, SSP Abhishek Yadav said a police team reached the village and took possession of a plot and seven bighas of agricultural land.
Imran is a history sheeter and has been involved in over a dozen cases of cow smuggling, cow slaughtering and cheating, the SSP added.
