CPI-M leader Surjya Kanta Mishra has assets over Rs 23 lakh

CPI(M) West Bengal secretary Surjya Kanta Mishra who is contesting the assembly election from Narayangarh seat in West Midnapore district has declared that he owns assets worth over Rs 23 lakh.
According to nomination papers filed by him, Mishra who is also the Leader of the Opposition in the state assembly has deposits in three bank accounts, including a PPF account, which totals Rs 577,959.
He owns 14,400 sq ft of non-agricultural land and a house in the district worth over Rs 12 lakh in current market value.
In Kolkata he owns a 450 sq feet flat worth Rs 600,000 in the market.
Mishra who has done his MBBS from SCB Medical College in Cuttack has shown liabilities to be zero in the nomination papers.
The 66-year-old doesn't have any dependents and his wife owns Rs 2 lakh worth of jewellery.
