To pressurise the CBI to expedite its investigation in the multi-crore Saradha chit fund scam case, the CPI(M) today said it will demonstrate in front of the agency's Kolkata office on January 12.
"On the 12th of this month we will put up a big demonstration outside the CGO complex in Salt Lake (where the CBI office is located). Lakhs of people have still not got their money and more than 100 have committed suicide. The CBI should speed up the process of investigation and get the guilty punished," Left Front chairman Biman Bose said.
Speaking at a program to mark 50 years of 'Ganashakti' newspaper, the CPI(M)'s Bengali mouthpiece, he said they will have another demonstration on January 28 outside government offices in districts to protest against the law and order situation in the state.
"If the ruling party does injustice, it becomes justice. The rule of law is not being followed in the state. False cases are hurled on us," Bose said.
He alleged that attacks were not only on the Communists but on all anti-government forces and even the common man.
"No political party has been left. This is the rule. And now the ruling party members are also fighting amongst themselves," he said.
To fight against the Trinamool Congress, he said all Communist parties who are outside of the Left Front should come together to fight.
