Welcoming the conviction of DMK MP Selvaganapathy in the cremation shed scam, CPI-M leader G.Ramakrishan today wondered why AIADMK and DMK were silent on the conviction of the former Minister.
Addressing an election meeting here today, he said "the former minister has been sentenced to two years of imprisonment for the corruption..And both the Dravidian parties were not talking about it".
Selvaganapathy, a minister in AIADMK government headed by J Jayalalithaa during 1991-96, and four others were sentenced to rigorous imprisonment in connection with construction of cremation sheds in Nagapattinam district.
The achievement of the Congress-led UPA government in the last ten years was "Corruption", Ramakrishnan alleged.
