Crackers-ladden lorry gutted as lightning strikes it

Crackers loaded in a lorry exploded after a fire broke out gutting the vehicle when lightning struck it at Pernayakanpatti near here today, police said.
No one was injured in the incident as rains that followed the thunder and lightning put out the flames soon, they said.
The lorry was on its way to Punjab from here, the national fireworks hub, when it caught fire after being struck by lightning.
The sound of explosion of the crackers was heard in nearby villages.
