Cricket betting racket busted; seven held

Cyberabad Police today claimed to have busted a cricket betting racket with the arrest of seven persons at Jeedimetla here.
According to police, the prime accused in the case, one Sudheer had rented a room for the purpose of running cricket betting den equipped with a TV, laptop, cell phones.
Sudheer was assisted by six others who used to receive calls from punters for placing cricket bets and entered transactions of the betting amount in the laptop through a special software, police said.
Based on the information, the police raided the house yesterday and busted the cricket betting racket and nabbed seven persons, they said.
