Criminal cases have been filed against those selling illegal injections to increase milk yield of cows and buffaloes in Nashik district, the Legislative Council was informed here today.
Minister for Food and Drug Administration Manohar Naik said this in a written reply to a query by MLC Apurva Hiray.
Hiray pointed out that the harmful chemicals in the injection made their way to milk and this was posing a health hazard for children. "One cannot play with lives of children," he said.
Replying to another query by Vijay Girkar and Ashish Shelar, Home Minister R R Patil said that altogether 1396 posts were yet to be filled up in the police wireless department.
"These posts will be filled up soon," he added.
