Criminal held with arms, ammunition in Jharkhand

A criminal was arrested with five pistols including a 9mm pistol from Pahari Mohalla under Medininagar Town police station in Palamau district today, police said.
Acting on a tip-off, a police team arrested Md. Aslam while he was on his way to supply the fire-arms to a gang, DSP, Ajay Kumar said.
Following a search, Kumar said five pistols including one 9mm bore was recovered from his possession.
In the preliminary interrogation, Aslam confessed he was going to deliver the fire-arms, which was likely to be used during the forthcoming Ramnavami festival, he said.
Police was likely to take Ali on remand for interrogation, Kumar added.
