Chavan today visited the most affected area at Mohgaon Bhatade in Narkhed taluka of Nagpur district.
He was accompanied by state rehabilitation minister Patangrao Kadam, Food and Civil Supplies minister Anil Deshmukh, Pradesh Congress Committee president Manikrao Thakre and minister of state for finance Rajendra Mulak,
Oranges and wheat crops suffered damages in the area.
Six persons died due to hailstorm related incidents in Nagpur division and as many as 47 livestock also perished, an official release said here.
The affected talukas include Kamptee, Hingana, Saoner, Katol, Kalmeshwar, Narkhed, Ramtek, Parseoni, Mouda, Bhivapur and Kuhi in Nagpur district.
In Wardha district, Seloo, Deoli, Ashti, Karanja and Hinganghat while Bhandara, Paoni, Sakoli, Lakhandur, Arjunmor, Goregaon and Gondia and Warora in Chandrapur district were mostly affected.
