Rich tributes were paid to ten CRPF personnel who became victim of the treacherous act of Chinese troops on this day in 1959.
"Not only the names of martyrs were read out by CRPF Commandant Brajesh Pratap Singh at Head office here but names of CRPF personnel, who lost their lives in different operations in 2013 in the country, were also read out with honour," Deputy Commandant Kunvar Singh said.
16th CRPF Battalion has been deployed to look after the security at Sri Krishna Janmasthan and Shahi Masjid Idgah here.
On October 21, 1959, ten personnel of CRPF were killed by the foul act of Chinese troops.
Ever since in the memory of the ten martyrs, the day is celebrated as 'Shahidi Diwas'. In the first attack of Chinese troops at Laddakh Haat, the CRPF personnel had become the victim.
