The incident was reported Thursday evening when the official was among the spectators at a cultural function organised at a Durga Puja pandal near Vidyut Vihar locality.
While the official was sitting in the second row, the girl and her mother were sitting in the first, a police official said.
"The girl started crying suddenly and when her mother asked her what had happened, she whispered something. The woman then turned back and alleged that the official had touched her daughter inappropriately," he said
