Customs, excise offices to remain open tomorrow

All field offices under the chief commissioners of customs, central excise and service tax will remain open tomorrow to facilitate payment of taxes and filing of returns by taxpayers as the current fiscal draws to a close.
The Central Board of Excise and Customs (CBEC) has decided to keep open all the field offices under the chief commissioners to facilitate the tax-payers in payment of taxes or filing returns and in carrying out other procedural formalities and to provide any clarifications which may be required by the taxpayers, a Finance Ministry release said.
This special measure taken by the CBEC is in addition to the 24x7 facilities provided by the Customs formations at the ports and airports, it said.
