Cycling marathon to see participation of 10,000 cyclists

The maiden edition of Vodafone Cycling Marathon, with a total prize money of Rs 10 lakh, is expected to see the participation of 10,000 cyclists at the event to be held here on February 9.
The participants will include 150 elite licensed cyclists of Cycling Federation of India, according to the organisers of the event, recognised by CFI.
The event will also be acknowledged in the National and International Calendar of Cycling events, a release from Vodafone said, adding, the event is aimed at igniting the spirit of cycling for passion, fun and greener environment in the city across all age groups.

The total prize money of Rs 10 lakhs will be divided as -- first position Rs 2.5 lakh, second position Rs 1.75 lakh, third position Rs 1.25 lakh and fourth position Rs 1 lakh while the remaining amount would be divided among 16 consolation winners, it said.
