Czech police said they have arrested a woman who is suspected of killing her three new-born babies. Spokeswoman Petra Vedrova said Friday that the woman has confessed to killing a girl born in May and twins born last year.
Police say they discovered the bodies in the cellar of the woman's house in the southeastern village of Vlasatice on Thursday after receiving a tip from her gynecologist. Police say the family's financial problems were the likely motive for her actions.
If convicted of three murders, the mother faces up to life in prison.
Police declined to release more details about the case immediately.
