Dacoit carrying reward over Rs 5 lakh arrested from MP

A dacoit carrying a reward of Rs 5.10 lakh on his head was arrested by Gujarat police along with three of his associates from Shivpuri town here, police said today.
The dacoit, identified as Manish Gusain, and his three associates, Gaurav Tomar, Pushpendra Singh and Vinay were arrested last evening in connection with a dacoity at a jewellery shop in Ahmedabad's Sabarmati Road area, Joura Sub Divisional Officer of Police (SDOP) D Sonakia told reporters here.
A team from Gujarat Crime Branch had reached Morena town following inputs that the dacoits belong to Morena district of Madhya Pradesh.
Later, they got Manish's mobile location in neighbouring Shivpuri district following which they were nabbed from there, the SDOP said.

Members of Gujarat Police team were camping in Morena for the last one week in connection with the dacoity.
The dacoit gang had made an attempt to loot a jewellery shop in broad daylight in Ahmedabad's Sabarmati Road area on April 9, and in the process Manish had also shot at the owner of the shop causing serious injuries.

After the incident, Gujarat Police had announced a reward of Rs 5 lakh for information leading to the arrest of Manish while Morena Police too declared an award of Rs 10,000 against him.
All the arrested persons were produced in a court in Shivpuri town and were remanded to police custody for 10 days.

They have confessed before Gujarat police to have committed three dacoities and a murder in that state, police added.
