Dalit woman killed in clash in UP

A 60-year-old woman was killed and her husband seriously injured in a clash between two groups at Briwala village here, police said today.
The victim identified as Kalawati was killed and her husband Sukhbir injured when a clash broke out between two Dalit groups at Briwala village under Purkazi police station yesterday, they said.
Trouble started when Sukhbir had an altercation with one Meghraj that later turned violent, with lathi-wielding people joining the duo, police said.
A case has been registered against Meghraj and his wife Savita, they said, adding that the couple has been taken into custody.
