Dalmia Cement registers record sale in North East

Dalmia Cement (Bharat) Ltd has registered sale of 2.1 million tonnes during its two years of operations in the North East and has set a target of one million tonne for the current calendar year.
"Dalmia Cement has been able to capture 20 per cent of market share during the last two years which no other brand can claim to have achieved within this short span," Dalmia Cement Executive Director (North East) Abhra Banerjee told reporters here today.
The company has set a target of one million tonne of production in the region which was expected to earn a revenue of Rs 1000 crore during the current calendar year, he said.
"We have sustained our success in the North East over the last two years with consistent performance, signifying best quality and strength," Banerjee said.
The company's product is in use in strategic sectors like road construction along the sensitive Indo-China border in Arunachal Pradesh, the 9.15km long Sadiya-Dhola bridge in Assam, NHAI's road construction, Gas Cracker Project, ONGC's Palatana projects, he added.
There are three production units of the company in the region--two in Assam and one in Meghalaya.
The company's national brand ambassador M C Mary Kom has helped the company to connect with the people of North East, he added.
