A 10-year-old child died in hospital. All the deceased belonged to Mandsaur district of Madhya Pradesh.
The accident had occurred yesterday when a private tourist bus carrying pilgrims back from Badrinath shrine fell into the Ganges while trying to overtake a truck at Kodiyala area of Tehri district.
Meanwhile, Chief Minister Vijay Bahuguna, on his way back to Dehra Dun from New Delhi, visited Jollygrant Himalayan Hospital and enquired about the health of the injured.
Directing the hospital administration to provide the best medical care to the injured, Bahuguna said all medical expenses of the injured would be borne by the state government.
