Debt-ridden school headmaster commits suicide

A government school headmaster allegedly committed suicide by shooting himself with his licensed gun after moneylenders began troubling him to return the money that he had borrowed from them, police said today.
54-year-old Ramesh Khare, a resident of Ramchand Pura village, was posted in Patri village under Joura tehsil. He committed suicide last night by allegedly shooting himself with his licensed gun on the rooftop of his residence, Sub Divisional Officer of Police (SDOP) K D Sonakia said.
His family members alleged that powerful moneylenders were troubling him for returning their amount with huge interest following which he took the extreme step.

After autopsy, the police handed over the body to his family members for performing last rites. A case has been registered in this regard and further investigations are on.
