"The decision is a matchless example of respect for other religions and communal harmony," an official release said quoting Das.
"Festivals give messages of brotherhood, love and harmony," he said and prayed for strength to serve the state's 3.25 crore people and bring progress in their lives.
Praising the artistry of the pandals here, the Chief Minister said it connects all corners of the country.
Das also appealed to the misguided youths who have strayed away from the mainstream to use their energy constructively.
