Aam Aadmi Party today urged the Election Commission and the Centre to declare a holiday in National Capital Region (NCR) on December 4, on the lines of Delhi, so that Delhi resident working in these areas can exercise their franchise.
"There are many first time voters who reside in Delhi but work in NCR like Noida, Gurgaon, Faridabad. Though there is a holiday in Delhi on December 4, but office in these areas will remain open, due to which many people won't get opportunity to cast their vote," said Yogendra Yadav, AAP leader.
He said,"We would request the Election Commission and the Union Government to talk to neighbouring states to declare holiday on December 4."
On the issue of criminal cases against five AAP candidates, as found by Association for Democratic Reforms, senior lawyer Prashant Bhushan said," We have cases against five of our candidates but none of them are as grave as the one charges on Congress and BJP.
