Declare Sanganer a craft city: BJP MLA

The Sanganer BJP MLA today asked the Rajasthan government to declare Sanganer a craft city due to its print industry which gives employment to 3 lakh people.
Sanganer is known for Sanganeri print in textile and it needs protection of the government, said the BJP MLA Ghanshyam Tiwari.
"The 300 years old industry gives employment to 3 lakh people and the business runs in crores of rupees but some units have been served notices by the pollution control board asking them to shift the units due to pollution in water," the Sanganer MLA said.
The issue of water pollution due to the industry can be addressed by setting up the effluent treatment plant, which is in final stage of being set up by the Centre, State governments and the industry association, he added.
