Speaking to reporters, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Law and Order) G Radhika said Salimkhan Sherkahan Soudagar, Mazarkhan Apparkhan Saudagar and Amjadkhan Afzalkhan Soudagar have been arrested in connection with the seizure.
The materials were stockpiled since long without any proper documents, she said, adding, the actual valuation of the seized materials was still to be worked out.
Though the accused produced some certificates issued in 1998 allowing them to store the materials, the authenticity of the document needs to be established, she said.
Since the matter pertains to the forest department, the case will be handed over to it, she said.
