Defacement of property by political parties

Despite appeals by the Election Commission to political parties to follow guidelines for the Lok Sabha elections, there were 544 instances of defacement of property in Jharkhand.
FIRs were filed in 167 cases of defacement of property, a release from the Chief Electoral Office said here.
The BJP topped with 47 instances followed by Jharkhand Vikas Morcha (30), Ajsu party (29), JMM (22) and Congress (14), the release added.
Jharkhand is going for three-phase elections on April 10, 17 and 24 for fourteen Lok Sabha seats.
