Hardline Hurriyat Conference chairman Syed Ali Shah Geelani today termed as "alarming" the BJP leader Ram Madhav's statement defending the 'human shield incident', saying it illustrates the party's policy on Jammu and Kashmir.
The recent statement of state minister C P Ganga (about using bullets for protestors) may be his personal opinion, however the BJP national general secretary's statement is serious as he figures among top ranking leaders in the party, he said.
It is alarming and illustrates their national policy for Jammu and Kashmir, Geelani said, adding they have declared war and his statement stands testimony.
The separatist leader said Madhav's assertion that "everything is fair in love and war" is a "clean chit to the forces to carry out massacre in the state".
He said Madhav's remark was an apparent "threat" to people.
Geelani said it was "ridiculous" to justify action of the officer who tied a youth to an army vehicle.
He demanded stringent punishment for those responsible for the incident.
Reacting to Ganga's comment that "traitors and stone- pelters should be treated with bullets", Geelani said, "We have no system to check these elements, otherwise he should have been in jail."
Geelani appealed the UN secretary general and the Organisation of Islamic Countries (OIC) to take cognizance of the "threat" by the BJP leaders.
Madhav had yesterday complimented an army officer responsible for tying a man to a jeep's bonnet in Kashmir, saying "everything is fair in love and war" and the "harsh" decision saved lives of civilians and soldiers.
