Delhi Assembly to hold MLAs' workshop for 'effective' Budget

In order to ensure that the upcoming Budget Session is 'effective', the Delhi Assembly will be organising a workshop for MLAs.
"Experts from Rajya Sabha and Lok Sabha will train Delhi MLAs about the budget and questions to be asked during the session," said Delhi Assembly Speaker Ram Niwas Goel.
The Budget Session will begin after March 15, a senior government official said. AAP has 67 MLAs in the House while sole opposition BJP has three legislators.
Goel further said that busts of revolutionaries Bhagat Singh, Sukhdev and Rajguru will be unveiled on March 23, the day of their martyrdom, in the Assembly complex.

The Speaker also spoke of a plan to instal solar panels on the rooftop of the Assembly building.
Goel, who today completed one year in the Speaker's post, said 26 sittings of the House have been held in the last one year.
A total of 23 Bills, most of which are pending with the Centre, were passed during the past year, he said, adding that the Assembly also adopted the reports of the House Committees -- Second Report of the Committee on Private Members Bills and Resolutions, First Report of the Ethics Committee and First and Second Report of the Privileges
