The turnover of these bogus companies was shown to be Rs Rs 277.73 crores in 2013-14 and during physical verification by the authorities, these companies were found non-existent.
"Last week Value Added Tax Inspectors (VATIs) visited the various premises and 65 high risk dealers were found with bogus declared turnover of Rs 277.73 crores for the year 2013-14 and registration certificates of such dealers were cancelled," Commissioner (Trade & Tax) Amit Yadav said today.
Yadav maintained that the raids will continue and the action against such bogus traders would be further intensified.
In the last weeks, two separate raids were conducted and the department cancelled the registration certificates of around 172 bogues traders.
