In order to provide employment opportunities to youths, Delhi government today announced it will soon hold a large-scale job summit along with private companies and other industry bodies, which will be open for all.
The move has come after the success of the eight-day long job summit held this month through which over 2,100 persons, including 306 disabled, were shortlisted by 30 companies.
"In the first summit we spoke to private companies and 38 of them participated and based on our data at employment exchange we conducted their interviews. We targeted to provide employment to 1,000 people but got positive response and 2,108 candidates were offered job.
"This has motivated us to hold a job summit at a bigger level. We will hold a meeting with leading companies and industry body likes ASSOCHAM, FICCI, CII on August 27 to partner in next job fair," Labour Minister Gopal Rai said.
Government also said that based on discussion and scope of employment opportunity it will plan the next summit.
"So far we restricted the candidate based on the data available with us at employment exchange but now it will be open for all. Anyone can apply and get job in the next job summit," Rai said.
The government will also partner with NGOs which assisted more than 300 disabled persons in getting job in the first summit, he added.
