According to the MeT department, the minimum temperature was 27.7 degree Celsius, a rise of nearly two notches from yesterday's minimum of 26 degree Celsius.
The maximum is likely to soar to 44 degree Celsius mark, which, if recorded, will breach the recent hottest day mark of 43.7 degrees.
The maximum temperature for the city recorded yesterday was 43.4 degree Celsius while the same figure for Palam observatory was 45.8 degree Celsius.
"It will be a clear sky today as well as tomorrow," the official said.
The minimum temperature tomorrow is forecast at 28 degree Celsius.
