The crime branch of Delhi Police arrested 23-year-old Jagtar Lali, a resident of Kalyanpuri, for allegedly stabbing one Kuldeep to death on February 2.
"We got information that Jagtar was coming toward Kalyanpuri area on May 28. A trap was laid and he was arrested. Jagtar has earlier been involved in two cases of extortion in the area," a senior police officer said.
In another incident, police claimed to have busted a gang involved in distribution and selling of illegal weapons with the arrest of its three active members, identified as Prempal Singh (62), Dalip Sisodia (22) and Vinod (20).
He said this consignment of illegal weapons was brought from Khargon in Madhya Pradesh and the pistols would have been sold to anti-social elements at Rs 20,000 to Rs 25,000 each.
In a separate case, a gang of auto-lifters was busted with the arrest of its four active members.
The accused have been identified as Subhan Ali (23), Ashok (22), Mohammed Wasim (23) and Farman (22) arrested on May 30.
On May 28, a team of Crime Branch officials also apprehended two snatchers, identified as Parveen and a juvenile and recovered two mobile phones leading to the working out of two cases of snatching of PS Sarai Rohilla and Shakarpur.
